Abstrak English | Nowadays, Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastrukture technology has become mature and used by more and more companies around the world, including in Indonesia. The typical grwth of SAN infrastructures involves the addition of disk array capacity, the addition of servers attached, and the need for data replication. This research uses modeling and simulation to evaluate the performeance of SAN infrastructure in a banking company. The result of the simulaiton provide useful informationa bout changes in network delay and I/O response time in response to changes in the number of servers connected and the amount of I/O stream. This resarch models and simulates 3 servers accessing a SAN infrastructure concurrently, with 3 different sizes of input/output (I/O patterns is considered in this resarch. A simulation is also conducted to measure the speed of transfer in replicating data to an alternate site located 40 km apart. The modeling and simulation method constitutes a fleksible approach to evaluating the performance of SAN infrastructure, as it is easy; to experiment with various system configurations and parameters to model the operational environment.
