Radio data package service, currently is not enough in fulfilling the need of users and service providers. From the user point of view, the speed is still too slow, the connection setup is still too difficult and the fee is still to expensive. From the technical point of view, the lack of services is caused by the circuit-switched radio transmission mode. On the other hand, the general packet radio service (GPRS) is a new type of services GSM in the form of bearer services that is used for supporting data packet communication. In transmitting package, GPRS system utilizes GSM canal which is not used by voice transmission. Enhanced data rates for GSM evolution (EDGE) is one standard for for wireless data communication implemented in the GSM cellular network and is an extented step for evolution to mobile multimedia communication. This research here present the analysis of the performance of sharing canal for the supporting voice and data transmission based on circuit switched and package switched in GSM/EDGE networks. The research is applied on three types of sharing canals including partial sharing schemes, complete partitioning schemes and complete sharing schemes both on up link and down link direction.
