Abstract: In a highly competitive business era, it is a challenge for every organization to provide added values to its services to the customers and improve the operational performance of the company. Among those offered to customers include efficiency, accuracy and hassle-free business transactions. A newly-developed information system in the form of an Enterprise Resource Planning improving data accuracy, speeding up transaction process and improving the level of convenience in doing transactions. PT. KMI, Tbk, as a manufacturer of various types of cables, has consistenly strived to provide added values in its operations to give the best service possible to the customers. ITC department within the company has the initiative to implement Trade and Logistics module to support the activities in PT. KMI, Tbk's Marketing Department. This module is part of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) Axapta 3.0. The application of this moduleis a challenge in its own way to the company in implementing ERP system as the business process in Trade and Logistics Axapta 3.0 module is not always in line with the business process in PT. KMI, Tbk. In this paper, I have attempted to analyze the issue above using accepted theories and approaches of ERP applications in search for the right business solutions for PT KMI Tbk. The main approach used is methdology of Fit and Gap analysis of Business Process Orientation. Based on the analysis, it is expected that a right form of ERP system would emerge whose applications correspond to the business process within the Marketing Dpeartment at PT. KMI, Tbk., and enable the company in utilizing MBS Axapta 3.0's best practice. Int he last chapter of this paper a conclusion and several recommendations are provided for PT. KMI, Tbk which are considered useful in implementing ERP system successfully.
