ABSTRACT

Research on Information Technology (IT) innovation has mainly focused to adoption phase compared with implementation phase of innovation [1]. Implementation is the critical gateway between the decision to adopt the innovation and the routine use of the innovation [2]. A key reason is not innovation failure but implementation failure, the failure to gain targeted organizational member's use of an innovation to change individual behavior. Based on the literature indicated that numerous of researches have conducted in the area of innovation implementation were generally qualitative case studies. Since 2001, researchers like [3] have proposed implementation effectiveness model, and examined their proposed model using a quantitative approach. Since inception the quantitative approach, this study has received considerable attention in academic circle. Recently, quantitative study to measure implementation effectiveness and innovation effectiveness has conducted such as [4]. Most of studies have applied and extended the original model of the implementation effectiveness. For example, the extended model of implementation effectiveness has proposed by [5] that tested both financial and human resources effect on the model. Furthermore, the study added additional variables as a consequent variable of the implementation effectiveness model. Although there have been some researches on the implementation of innovations, none of the study focuses on Information Technology (IT) innovation. Past studies which have been based primarily on western, private firms, and where focus on industries. Unlike prior studies, the present study partly responds to the limitations of existing research into innovation implementation by examining the Information Technology (IT) innovation implementation that focuses to non-profit organization like education sector.
