ABSTRACT
Building sytems with an object-oriented database management system (ODBMS) requires an integrating foundation of languages, tools, class libraries, and methodology. In many environments, new object-oriented systems must co-exist with many years of legacy systems built with older generations of software technology, including relational databases and conventional languages.
This session provides intermediate level coverage of object database technology. It examines the process of building database systems in C, C++, Smalltalk, and object SQL languages, including the use of analysis, design and implementation productivity tools.
