Information security is critical for todays organizations including government organization. global exposurw to threats means thatthey must protect themselves from external and internal threars. protecting information assets is very important to the organization especially government organization. with the increase in cyberattacks and viruses worldwide, it has become essential for organizations to adopt innovative and rigorous standard and procedures to keep these important assets out of the reach of exploiters. this paper aims to demonstrate the benefit of impplementing ISO/IEC 27001:2005 as an information security management system to protect information asset and enchance the information security for e-government.
