Topology optimization is increasingly used in design of integral structure components in aviation industry to consitute the best distribution of material and voids layout in a defined volume.topoly optimization only meeting the working performance requirement is often not reasonable enough for the theoretical model considering manufacturability constrainsts was constructed. a comprehensive scheme using available tools has been designed and executed L finite elements, modeling and analysis of initial design layout by ANSYS and topology optimization with a variety of machining constrainst by TOSCA software; topology optimization is executed by exploiting TOSCA with ANSYS solver; manufacturing constrainst like smooth sidewall contraint, minimal machining feature size, symmentry are incorporated intp the optimization loop; CAD features are extracted from optimization result and redefined structure has been verified in ANSYS under initial conditions. optimized design with manufacturing contrainst is moere feasible to machine with reduced weight and satisfied structure performance, and the optimization result can be referenced as initial layout for further detail design.
