Malaria Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, and Bird Flu are three examples of infectious diseases spread in indonesia in recent years. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) for example is the main problem in tropical countries especially during the rainy season. DHF is is reported to increase in number of cases and death figure. Bird flu is also one of the most dangerous disease, which places indonesia as a hostpot, with a very quick increase in the number of cases. Under the current economic cindition, the epidemic of these infectious diseases is a serious threat to indonesian peoples life. Therefore, monitoring the spread of the diseases, handling the diseases themselves, and preventing the spread are big tasks for indonesian goverment, especially medical researchers/practitioners, and health policy makers. This study proposes a system for analyzing the spread of the diseases based on the spatio-temporal information extracted from the web. The system consists of web search engine, information extraction and visualization facilities which is optimized for articles only in indonesian language.
