Electric energy generation is currently facing a problem where the source of energy availablity needed in generation process which is generally in the from of fossil energy, is reducing in number dat by day. Rescarch in renewable energy generation such as micro hydropower plant is important due to lack of research in this area This research was conducted by changing the diameter of an induction motor rotor to obtain a permanent magnet generator. Several pieces of permanent magnet were affixed to the rotor so that it becomes a generator that could be operated at low speed. In this study itv were conducted several conditions variations such as no load test at constant frequency, and load test with the prime movers constant speed. The results showed that the generator has ben able to produce output voltage at 31.38 V, 3.096 watts, maximum power at a frequency of 50 Hz with the rotor rotation speed of 333 rpm.
