APICNET is an Internet-connected PC network. The majority of its users are school teachers in Japan. APICNET's aim is to provide an environment accessible from the classroom to conduct online projects which promote education for international understanding. The educational effects that we ultimately expect to see in the participating students are that they become interested in global issues and regard them as their own problems to tackle. The virtual global classroom that we aim to develop on the Internet will be the place where students begin to think this way.
