This paper presents a systematic literature review (SLR) a model transformation generally and bidirectional model transformation specifically. SLR is well-applied in medical research and it is proven as the most suitable method to provide a set of guidelines in analyzing addressed to research questions. The research questions focus on bidirectional model transformation (BMT) issues in term of approaches, supported languages, and tools including addressed classification of model transformation. BMT is useful in model transformation process because it is able to reduce a set of transformation rules that automatically increase productivity and save the cost of software development. However, it is still at infancy stage and there is a number challenges to extend BMT. Lack of guidelines as foundation and insufficient of the existing framework were become a barrier to implement BMT Keywords: model transformation, bidirectional, systematic literature review
