Name : Naomi Olga Panjaitan Study Program : Master of Information Technology Title : Analysis of Maturity Level in Software Development Using Scrum Methodology: a Case Study of XYZ Fintech Counsellor : Ir. Bob Hardian, M.Kom., Ph.D Teguh Raharjo, S.Kom, M.T.I.,
Startup XYZ is a pioneer EWA (Earned Wage Access) application in Indonesia that has existed since 2020. The primary vision of XYZ Startup is to build financial health for low- and middle-income workers in Southeast Asia. In achieving their vision and facing current competitors, Startup XYZ continues to innovate to meet the needs of the market. Startup XYZ uses Scrum methodology in the application development process. It was found that there were some problems that occurred because the development process was less optimal, such as the job target not being achieved, which caused a release planning delay. This problem affects the quality and performance of Startup XYZ. The study aims to measure the Scrum Maturity of startup XYZ so that recommendations can be drawn up to improve the maturity level. Data is obtained from several sources, such as interviews, observations, and questionnaires adapted from the Scrum Maturity Assessment. The results obtained by the questionnaire are calculated using the KPA (Key Process Area) Rating based on the Agile Maturity Model approach. Recapitulating Scrum's maturity calculation, it is known that Startup XYZ is still at level 2, with the category largely achieved. After achieving the maturity level of each level, recommendations are drawn up based on observations, Scrum Guide 2020, SCRUM Essential, and SBOK v3. It turns out that there are 28 recommendations to improve each level of startup maturity. Recommendation proposals are then categorized on the basis of Scrum elements, which then produce 12 recommendations that have been validated along with their priorities. Of the few proposed, Startup XYZ implemented five recommendations on the use of Story Point as well as the implementation of Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, and Sprint Retrospective. The evaluation results of the implementation receive positive feedback but require periodic evaluation in order to achieve better results.
